Day Ten: The Year of Living Gratefully Challenge

The last week has been a whirl wind. I have had so many things happening, so many things I needed to make happen, so many challenges and scary moments. Even so, I am here to say. . . Thank You!!

Here is my list for today!

  1. I have completed day 2 of the course that was giving me nightmares. I actually did a decent job. The thing that was so stressful about this course was not the subject matter. I like Cascading Style Sheets. The problem was that the students were so advanced, or at least they seemed to be. I did not want to go in today. But I did, and thanks to my friend Greg, who gave me many great ideas, I was able to fill up the day with many useful exercises. I don't plan to look at the evaluations, I am just so thankful it is over.
  2. My car is going to be crack free. A few days ago, I noticed that my windshield had a crack, about a foot long. I was hoping I could live with it, but considering I am going to Toronto today, and next week I will be driving out to British Columbia with my daughter, I thought it better to bite the bullet and get it done.
  3. Because I am getting a new windshield, I won't have to clean it. It should look clean and clear, great for when we drive across the country.
  4. I am grateful that the cost of the windshield is going to be so much less then I thought it would be.
  5. I am so grateful and happy that I was able to get someone else to take my course tomorrow, so I would be free to spend an extra day with my mother before I leave to go out west.

What are you grateful for? I want to hear about it. Join the Year of Living Gratefully challenge at Year of Living Gratefully Challenge. Spread the word. Let's get the whole world on board.

Day Five: The Year of Living Gratefully Challenge - 360 Days to go!

Thanks for joining me again for Day Five of the challenge.

Gratitude is not only about saying thank you. It is also about appreciation. Just being able to sit back and smile at the little things that happen to brighten your day. About taking joy in your friends and loved ones.

So here is what I appreciate about today.

  • I am soon going to bed, and don't have to think about getting up tomorrow until I want to!
  • I was given extra work next week which means I will not starve next month.
  • I got to spend the evening with my marvelous, talented, funny, cute and magical daughter who helped me perfect one of my most important projects.
  • I have made plans to spend time with my other marvelous, talented, funny, cute and magical daughter tomorrow.
  • By helping one of my students solve a problem with her database, I learned more about Access and may be able to use my new skills to get more business.

Thanks for taking the time to check out my list for today. How about joining me in the Year of Living Gratefully. Good night!

Another great day. I am happy and grateful that . . .

  2. I had a new day, a new class, and new challenge.
  3. One of my students presented me with and interesting challenge which I have found a possible solution. I can't wait to tell her about it tomorrow.
  4. My new hair colour. It makes me feel so pretty and colourful. I have had so many wonderful compliments about it.
  5. I had a special time with my step granddaughter, Hailey. Though it was short, we had a lovely snuggle and talked and planned out upcoming trip to Niagara Falls.

It is time for me to hit the sack. Good night!

Being Grateful for Not So Good Things

Day Two: The Year of Living Gratefully Challenge (TYofLGC)

  1. The crack in my windshield. OK, when I first saw the crack, I was far from happy or grateful about it. Then I thought to myself, I can let myself get all upset and feeling sorry for myself, or I can choose to find something good about this. I was tempted to start telling everyone about my misfortune, looking for that sympathetic ear - Oh poor you - How awful. Then I said, no, I am not going to do that. I can choose to feel sorry for myself, or choose to snap out of it and find something positive about it. So, I choose to not complain, and choose to believe that good things will come out this.
  2. My opportunity to once again teach Microsoft Access - I love teaching this course, seeing peoples eye's light up as they get the process of designing a database, feeling the positive energy because they are enjoying the class and seeing that the subject is actually fun. I have a good group of people who are responding well and even laugh at my jokes.
  3. The opportunity to hang with my daugther.
  4. The opportunity to sit with a cup of tea, vegitate and relax.
  5. I made it into the gym for a workout

Please join me on committing to your own TYofLGC. How can you take part, you ask? Here's how?

Looking forward to hearing from you!
